Bubbles Flash Mob
Sunday, June 12 · 1:00pm - 1:30pm
Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere
1:00pm - Meet and Brief
...Flash mob will meet on the corner of Swanston & Little Lonsdale
(Grassy area) ***BRING POCKET SIZED BUBBLE BLOWER***
1:20pm - Relocate to undisclosed indoor mall location armed with bubble blower (and a Napkin available from any food store at the mall).
Please act casual. (Eating, Chatting, Reading)
1:30pm *SHARP* - Spontaneously blow as many bubbles as possible for 1 solid minute, creating a glorious, bubble filled, fun room.
1:30pm - (Xylophone team plays rehearsed melody for 1 minute)
1:31pm - *SHARP* Bubble blower goes back in the pocket. Casually wipe your contribution of left over bubble soap... continue acting casual and/or disperse casually.
The confusion/excitement of innocent bystanders is priceless..
this will be higher if all flashers follow these 2 important rules:
- Please act as casual as possible before and after the 1 minute period. If you find it hard to keep a straight face, bring a book or an Ipod.
- Please do not clap or laugh afterward. Disperse casually or act casual as if nothing happened. "What bubbles? I didn't see them.. "
FINAL TIPS: Practice your bubble blowing. I know it sounds like a no-brainer, but with a little practice before hand you can turn your average 5 bubbles per blow to a whopping 10-20 bubbles per blow.
15 bubbles per blow
Assuming 1 blow (including dip) takes 5 seconds
you will be capable of 12 blows in 1 minute.
Each person can potentially contribute 180 bubbles to the sky in that precious bubbly minute.
180 multiplied by 500 flash mobbers = 90,000 = Super Fun Happy Bubble Time.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1Nkvs3Bgpo
And remember the quick napkin wipe down afterward.. It would be a shame to have someone slip over in the name of flash mobbing.
We will organize video footage, So please refrain from all pulling out video phones... it won't look as spontaneous. The video will be available on youtube afterward.
SPREAD THE WORD... but don't spread it too far...
The Bubble Blowing location will remain undisclosed until the briefing at 1:00pm
Assemble here on the grass outside the library at 1 pm for the briefing
